NOMINATION AND APPLICATION
Erasmus+ mobility applications to the Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara must be submitted exclusively by the students’ home institution to the International Office (Erasmus+) by email at erasmus@accademiacarrara.it.
Applications submitted directly by individual students will not be accepted.
Nomination deadlines
- Full academic year or first (winter) semester: 30 June of each year
- Second (spring) semester: 15 November of each year
The academic year begins at the end of October and ends at the end of June.
Application
After being nominated by their home institution, students must complete the online application using the link that will be provided by the International Office (Erasmus+). The required application documents must be submitted by 15 July for students applying for the full academic year or the first (winter) semester, and by 30 November for students applying for the second (spring) semester.
The following documents must be submitted together with the application:
- Transcript of Records (showing the examinations passed in the last year at the home institution)
- Portfolio (10–12 pages compiled into a single PDF file) presenting the students’ best artistic work
- Letter of Motivation
- Copy of a valid identity document or passport
- Copy of the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for EU students or proof of valid health insurance coverage for non-EU students, valid for the entire period of mobility in Italy
An Italian language certificate is not required, however, a minimum level of A2 is strongly recommended. All courses at the Accademia are taught in Italian, and not all professors are able to conduct classes or provide supervision in English. Therefore, students without an adequate knowledge of the Italian language are advised to avoid theoretical courses whenever possible.
STUDY PLAN AND LEARNING AGREEMENTS
Students will be notified of the outcome of their mobility application within one month after receipt of all the required documentation listed above.
If a student needs to receive the acceptance letter earlier for administrative reasons (for example, to apply for a visa), he/she should contact the International Office (Erasmus+) by email explaining the urgency. The application will then be given priority.
Once the mobility has been accepted, students are required to complete the Learning Agreement on the Online Learning Agreement (OLA) through the Erasmus Without Paper (EWP) platform https://learning-agreement.eu/user/login
A paper Learning Agreement may also be accepted when specifically required by the student’s home institution or for administrative purposes.
The Accademia offers both Bachelor’s Degree programmes (BA – three-year programmes, Triennio) and Master’s Degree programmes (MA – two-year programmes, Biennio).
Erasmus students may choose courses from both Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes, from different departments, and from degree programmes other than the one they are enrolled in at their home institution.
The complete list of departments is available on the Accademia website in the “Scuole” section.
The complete list of courses is available at:https://accademiacarrara.it/corsi/
Students attending only one semester of a year-long course will be awarded half of the total ECTS credits. Students attending a semester-long course for one semester, will receive the full number of ECTS credits upon successful completion.
Changes to the Learning Agreement
Changes to the Learning Agreement (adding or dropping courses) are permitted within the first six weeks of each semester and must be communicated promptly to the International Office.
