Robotic Lab
Technology
The Academy has two light-structured “Scanprobe” scanners, which allow the three-dimensional digital acquisition of statues and handmade artworks, with a detection error less than one millimetre.
Scanners radiate white structured light, completely harmless and non-invasive for scanned works.
Three-dimensional digital scanning offers the possibility to reproduce artworks with numerically controlled machines, as well as having a high-definition digital copy for archiving and studying them.
The Academy has a high precision robotic milling equipment consisting of a kuka kr-150 robot with a rotating head that allows the reproduction of the scanned model with a playback error of less than millimetre.
