Luciano Massari
Born in Carrara in 1956, he studied at the local Academy of Fine Arts, where he now holds the Sculpture Chair. In 2016 he was elected Director of the Academy, position already held in the past at the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti of Turin.
Being active as an artist since 1980, he has taken part to many solo and group exhibition and to international competitions all along his career. His artworks are on display in private and public collections in Italy and abroad. His recent artistic output takes inspiration from a research of strong design overtones. His investigations have so produced environmental works, a close dialogue between sculpture and poetry, and collaborations with other artists as Marco Nereo Rotelli. In 2005 he took part to the 51st Venice Biennale.
